These terms (“Traveler Terms”) govern your use of the LocalExperience.co platform (“Platform”) as a traveler or guest (“Traveler”).
By booking any experience (“Experience”) through the Platform, you agree to these Traveler Terms in addition to the General Terms and Conditions.
LocalExperience operates as a marketplace intermediary, not as a tour operator or travel agency, under Turkish Law No. 1618.
All Experiences are independently provided by local individuals (“Locals”) and constitute a direct agreement between you (the Traveler) and the Local.
All bookings must be made exclusively through the Platform.
When you submit a booking request, you agree to pay the total price displayed for the Experience, which includes:
the Experience Fee, and
the Platform’s service fee (commission).
A booking becomes valid only when confirmed by the Local and acknowledged by a notification through the Platform.
LocalExperience does not guarantee the availability, accuracy, or performance of any Experience advertised by Locals.
Payments are collected securely through authorized payment partners.
No cash payments are accepted by the Platform.
The total amount you pay is held in escrow by the payment processor until the Experience is completed.
After completion, LocalExperience transfers the net amount (minus commission) to the Local.
LocalExperience issues an invoice for its service commission.
The Local is responsible for issuing a service invoice for the Experience provided to you.
Cancellations and refunds are subject to the Traveler Cancellation Policy published on the Platform.
This policy defines refund amounts based on timing and booking status (e.g., confirmed, same-day, or rescheduled bookings).
LocalExperience acts solely as a facilitator of refunds, executing them on behalf of the Local where applicable.
LocalExperience is not responsible for any refund obligations beyond those explicitly defined in the applicable policy.
As a Traveler, you agree to:
Provide accurate personal and contact information;
Ensure at least one participant in each booking is 18 years or older;
Follow all safety instructions and guidance from the Local;
Respect local laws, customs, and cultural sensitivities.
You are solely responsible for your actions during the Experience.
LocalExperience assumes no liability for your conduct or any personal loss, injury, or damage arising from participation.
If you experience a problem with a confirmed booking, you must notify LocalExperience within 48 hours after the Experience ends.
Complaints submitted after this period may not qualify for investigation or refund.
Complaints should include the booking reference, description of the issue, and supporting evidence (e.g., photos, messages).
LocalExperience may, at its discretion, provide mediation support but final decisions rest with the Local unless legal obligations apply.
LocalExperience is not a party to the service contract between you and the Local.
Participation in any Experience is entirely at your own risk.
LocalExperience is not responsible for:
the conduct or quality of the services provided by Locals,
any loss, injury, or damage incurred during or after an Experience, or
indirect or consequential losses.
LocalExperience does not provide travel or personal insurance.
Travelers are encouraged to obtain their own travel or accident insurance before participating in any Experience.
LocalExperience’s total liability, if any, is limited to the commission fee collected for the transaction in question.
By participating in an Experience, Travelers may consent to the capture of photo or video content by Locals or other participants,
provided that such content is used in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection laws (KVKK/GDPR).
Travelers may request removal of any identifiable content by contacting LocalExperience.
These Traveler Terms are governed by Turkish Law, including Law No. 6502 on Consumer Protection and Law No. 6563 on Electronic Commerce.
In case of a dispute, jurisdiction lies with the Istanbul Central (Çağlayan) Courts and Enforcement Offices.
