About Burak

Hello dear ladies and gentlemen. My name is Burak. I have recently graduated from Civil Engineering department at Yildiz Technical University and I continue with master at the same university. I am 24 years old and I have been living in İstanbul for 6 years. I am a social individual, thus I have many interests. Such as drama, sports, travelling, music, art and learning new languages. I am very eager to help foreign people. When I see someone were looking at the map and looks concerned about where to go ? I directly go to them and start ing a conversation for helping this people. Because I have been in abroad and people usually were kind to me as well. I also like foreigners because of their diversities. We as humans all grow up in different part of the world. Our ideas, our perspective are shaping through our environment. So, I’d like to listen different voices , learn different culture and discover new minds. I would love to introduce this amazing city to foreigners. Because I have many depths to İstanbul and I am trying to pay these with telling people about it’s beauties. If you choose me as a company or local (but I prefer to known as an enjoyable traveller friend :) ) I would start with visiting historical places such as Suleymaniye and Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Dolmabahce Palace. I like reading and I am interested in history so you will listen many insteresting stories about these places from my voice. Afterwards, I would continue our travel with the beautiful neighborhoods such as Beşiktas, Kadikoy and Uskudar. As we across from Beşiktaş Pier to Kadıköy Pier and drinking our Turkish teas, I can tell you interesting stories about İstanbul and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of The Turkish Republic. Of course because of that I spent my university years in this city, I know good places to eat, cheap or elegant and many exclusive nightclubs. I also like visiting modern art museums. We can go to İstanbul Modern Art Museum to see the world-famous artist's exhibitions. According to your requests I can help you in any topics as a sincere and honest friend. My English is fluent enough to have a conversation with a native person in any case. To sum up I am looking forward to meet you and explore this amazing city together. Stay tuned and keep on travelling. Love you all✌

We had a lovely day with Burak yesterday! Our day with him started with a wonderful traditional Turkish meal. Burak brought us to a local spot called ”Privato” where we had what can only be described as the best breakfast ever: (tip: go early and go super hungry! - there is a LOT of food and it’s all DELICIOUS!), we then had a very relaxing stroll around Galata tower, the pier, Spice Bazaar, Hippodrome, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Gülhane park, Sultan Ahmed Square and Suleymaniye Complex. We did some shopping in both Spice Bazaar and Grand Bazaar and it was wonderful to have Burak with us as he did all the steering for the best price and huggle!) We finished our day by a walk through Taksim and an incredible meal and live music in a place called Muzeyyen that Burak suggested: man, what a might! Turkish people surely know how to party! Mouthwatering dishes, local wine and raki, and of course, fantastic music and dancing! We came back to our hotel very happy!) We highly recommend Burak as your local guide: not only he is very knowledgeable and passionate about history and places of this amazing city, he truly helped to see Istanbul through the eyes of a local: an experience that we always treasure in our travels! Burak is a very well mannered and well read young man, very pleasant companion and guide, who has a great sense of humour and attention to detail (he planned and carefully chose all the places we ended up going to, based on our needs and interests) and we definitely hope to be back here again someday!

Burak and I spent the entire day walking and sightseeing in Istanbul. We covered Hippodrome and Hagia Sophia in Sultanahmet to Suleiman Mosque, Grand Bazar, Spice Market, Ferry ride to Asian side and finally ending in Taksim. What a fantastic day. Before he came he asked me to dress warmly (it's cold in Istanbul in mid-Feb), and asked for my preferences. Burak arrived on time and was very friendly. He had a plan, and we quickly went over it. I asked for some changes, and he adjusted to include them. He is a stickler for details and paid attention to anything I said. I wanted some vegetarian options and he introduced me some sumptuous dishes over lunch and several snacks during our walk. He was open with information and shared a lot about life in Turkey, and his own experiences growing up. His knowledge about the city and its culture is deep, and I learned so much from him. I highly recommend him as your personal guide. All the best.

Great day with Burak. He did a superb job turning a 12 hour stop over for into balanced day of relaxed sight seeing, enjoying coffee while watching the Bosporus, and terrific dinner. He arranged everything. I'm very grateful. Besides he's a nice guy. Thanks
