Hi Everyone, Good morning, good afternoon and good night! My name is Nadire. I am a 22 years old dentistry student in Istanbul, however I could say that my real passion is arts. I am talented in drawing and I used to perform bale. I spend most of my time in cafes and I can describe myself as a bookworm. Especially the ones about classical music, opera and bale are my favorites.
Things to do in Istanbul with Nadire
I have been living in Istanbul for a long time and since then my favorite district is Kadıkoy. It is located in Asian side and becoming more and more popular among young people in Istanbul due to its upright and peaceful environment as well as the local people. Centuries ago it was named as “Khalkedon” which means “city of blinds” by the Byzantine Emperor due to he was thinking that those who live in Kadıkoy must be blind cause the only beautiful place in Istanbul was Historical Peninsula at his time. I think, he would have change his mind, if he had the chance to see Kadıkoy today! It has a unique architecture, chilling public places by seaside and authentic pubs with delicious food and quality music. So if you are visiting Istanbul anytime soon, let me show this beautiful place to you!
Although it is a beautiful district, I can hardly say that it is the only one. There are plenty more beautiful things to do in Istanbul. Let’s have a quick look on what we can do together!
If we are in Asian Side,
1. We can visit Maiden Tower to have a great dinner with Panoramic Istanbul view.
2. We can have a picnic in Validebag Grove which has one of the first botanical garden’s of Turkey and also hosts ancient mansions with beautiful architecture.
3. We can visit Beylerbeyi Palace or the churches located in Kuzguncuk.
4. We can stop for a Turkish tea in Cengelkoy and feel the refreshing effect of the waves on our faces at Bosphorus side.
If we are in European Side,
1. We can visit glamorous bazaars, churches and mosques of Historical Peninsula.
2. We can visit Taksim and Besiktas to see dailylife in Istanbul as well as seeing modern Turkish architecture, museums and exhibitions.
3. We can stop at Eminonu to have some delicious sea food and visit historical railhead as well as the colorful bazaars where you can literally find anything.
4. We can discover vibrant nightlife in Istanbul by visiting places in Bosphorus side.
