Hi! I am Selchuk. I am an educator with a masters degree on International Relations from Harvard University. I have almost the same fluency level in both English and Turkish. What makes me unique as a guide is that I was born and grew up in Sultanahmet, the heart of the historical peninsula in Istanbul. Since I was a child, we had had guests in my grandfather's house that was only 100 metres away from the gorgeous Blue Mosque. I personally know almost all the local stories from the rich history of the old Istanbul. As an expert on the field, I want to show my guests around the old Istanbul. Starting from the most famous Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica to out-of-the-way hidden churches, synagogues and mosques, I will also be sharing my personal observations with you along with the history of the city. Finally, if you are into literature, I may be sharing the locations in Turkish Nobel Laureate Orhan Pamuk's historical best seller "My Name is Red", the story of which took place in 15th century Istanbul. I am a daytime guide. And I believe a four-hour-walk would be enough to complete my unique tour in old Istanbul with a few breaks along the way. I look forward to meeting you.
